The Self Test Chart Week 6
Cognitivism/Constructivism
The learner actively constructs his or her own understandings of reality through acting upon and reflecting on experiences in the world. When a new object, event, or experience does not fit the learner's present knowing structures, a conflict is provoked that requires an active quest to restore a balance. Teachers facilitate environmental conditions and mediate experiences to support student learning.

As an educator, I discovered that I fall under the Cognitivism/Constructivism philosophy more than the other ones. This makes sense to me and I am not surprised because while reading the meaning to this philosophy it reminded me of some of my personal character qualities. It relates to my personality so I can see how I fit more in this philosophy as opposed to anything else. For example, I tend to use the saying "Actions speak louder than words" often and I intend on using it with my future students as well.
