Focus questions Forum 1

1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being a teacher?
Advantages: being able to work with different age groups, coming up with creative formats for lesson planning; helping students progress
Disadvantages: long hours of work, dealing with stress caused from the administration, not having enough time to finish the work with students
2. What are the satisfactions—and complaints—of today's teachers?
The students' low test scores; teachers are always to blame when students are not able to academically perform successfully 
3. Can we consider teaching to be a profession?
yes it is a profession; requires a lot of hard work 
4. How has teacher preparation changed over the years?
teachers take more time out of their personal lives to prepare lessons and and prepare lesson segments for upcoming weeks; they also stay after school to help students who are struggling
5. What are the differences between the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers?
National Education Association is one of the largest labor unions in the U.S. because every teacher, school personnel and other staff members working is a school in this nation can be a part of this organization not just state wise. The American Federation of teachers is a labor union that primarily only represents teachers. 
6. What traits and characteristics are needed for successful teaching?
patience, differentiation, creativeness, compassion, being open minded and understanding of situations, brave and hard working
7. Is teaching a "good fit" for you?
yes it is a good fit for me, I believe I was meant for this job and it is something that I can picture myself doing for the rest of my life
